On “Fuzz Brain”, Berezy strikes a balance between forward-thinking chillhop textures and a deeply soulful sensibility especially with the inclusion of organic embellishments.
Berezy is an emerging artist from Vancouver, Canada, carving out a distinctive lofi sound shaped by his multi-instrumental approach on keys, drums, bass, and guitar. What I loved about “Fuzz Brain” is the dreamy charm that it has along with it’s emotional pull. This primarily stems from the stellar guitar arrangements and the atmospheric synths floating in the backdrop. The rhythm section keeps everything grounded, adding a subtle groove that gently carries the track forward.

Let Freedom Ring, an annual concert celebrating the life of Martin Luther King Jr., is leaving the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts after 23 years.
Georgetown University says it is moving Let Freedom Ring to Washington’s Howard Theatre, supposedly in order to save money.
The Kennedy Center says it will put on its own Martin Luther King celebration next week with the Missionary Kings of Harmony of The United House of Prayer for All People’s Anacostia congregation.

We’re well into 2026 now, but I guess it’s still fine to catch up on good music from 2025.
London singer Millie Mountain (whom we first featured in 2021 with “How We Like It“) shared a wonderfully cosy neo-soul piece called “Divine” back in October, featuring bass player Femi Temowo.
Blending the sound of Erykah Badu & Chaka Khan with modern influences and a bit of hip-hop, the song starts mellow and builds up to something that gives you goosebumps.
This is the #1 track of Global Soul’s Top 40 for 2025. Tune in for the full list below:

Durham Police have shared CCTV footage of a burglar who fell four times to the floor while trying to escape from a store he was robbing. The cops have choreographed his slips to a Johann Strauss waltz.
Andrew Pickering, 50, was jailed this week for 12 months for breaking into a petrol station in Ouston, Chester-le-Street, in the early hours of October 2021.
His worst punishment was being forced to watch the video.

Fans Suspect Journey’s Farewell Tour Won’t Include Longtime Singer And Keyboardist
Last fall, classic rock institution Journey announced their extremely long and ambitious Final Frontier tour, one last farewell trek across North America’s hockey arenas. For decades now, Journey have been effectively printing money, even though the internal band dynamics seem to be all messed up, with founding guitarist Neal Schon and longtime keyboardist Jonathan Cain suing each other and with singer Arnel Pineda inviting fans to kick him out of the group. Now, plenty of fans are wondering whether the farewell tour will even involve all of Journey, or whether Schon will leave Cain and Pineda sitting at the side of the road.

Eli Brunelle’s vocal delivery on his latest release “Beautiful, So Badly” carries a distinct touch that’s full of swagger, romance, and effortless charm.
As a student at Berklee College of Music, Eli Brunelle is a multi-talented musician who fuses pop, indie, soul, funk, and jazz influences. On “Beautiful, So Badly”, this is beautifully showcased across the marvelous instrumentation and vocal performance. The brass embellishments along with the keys pour soul into the experience while the guitar arrangements give the track an edgy, somewhat trippy aesthetic. “Beautiful, So Badly” really feels like the early works of Justin Timberlake blended with the sophistication of Jordan Rakei in such a modern way.

The former New York Philharmonic music director Alan Gilbert has extended his term at Royal Swedish Opera until the end of the decade, with an option of further extension.
Gilbert says: ‘Sweden is my home – it is where I live with my family, but it is also a crucial center of my musical life. Having the possibility to continue my work at the Royal Swedish Opera is incredibly important and meaningful to me as it is here that I have found a group of musicians and colleagues who share my love of opera and also my lofty ambitions for the company.’
He is also in his seventh season as Chief Conductor of Hamburg’s NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra.

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra has uprooted Natalie Chee from Germany to be its next Concertmaster.
Natalie presently leads the distinguished Gürzenich Orchestra in Cologne.
“It wasn’t really in my plan to come back to Australia as I was quite settled in Europe,” Chee shared. “But the MSO kept the conversation going, and each time I played with them, something clicked. Suddenly, I could imagine doing this.”
Her musical journey began in characteristically Australian fashion. Her mum simply looked up Yamaha in the phone book when young Chee started picking out melodies on the piano at age three. The Yamaha Music School’s group-based approach, emphasising rhythm, singing and joy before individual technique, laid a foundation that still influences her approach to music-making today.

Lamb of God have announced a new album, Into Oblivion, which follows 2022’s Omens and arrives on March 13 via Epic. We’ve got an exclusive green smoke vinyl variant, and you can pre-order that and pick up lots of other LOG records and merch in the BV shop.
Randy Blythe says the album is called Into Oblivion “because that’s where we’re heading. In general, the album is about the ongoing and rapid breakdown of the social contract, particularly here in America. Things are acceptable now that would’ve horrified people just 20 years ago.”
Into Oblivion includes Lamb of God’s 2025 singles “Parasocial Christ” and “Sepsis,” as well as the just-released, album-opening title track, which is as much of a gut-punch as you’d hope for from LOG. Check out the new song and its video (directed by Tom Flynn and Mike Watts), along with the two previous, singles below.
Lamb of God are also gearing up for their previously announced North American tour, which has the stacked support lineup of Sanguisugabogg, Kublai Khan TX, and Fit for an Autopsy, and that’ll be followed by their Headbangers Boat cruise that has another stacked lineup, with The Dillinger Escape Plan, Kylesa, In Flames, GWAR, Death Angel, D.R.I., Harms Way, 200 Stab Wounds, and more.
The headlining tour includes a NYC show on April 23 at Brooklyn Paramount. All dates are listed below.
