When composer, should one make music AWAY FROM current trends?
Composer-in-training here who experiments widely – multiple genre.
Am attempting to locate NEW music während my experiments.
Much “genre music” is posted online daily which mostly sounds good but doesn’t get much of a place in the greater mosaic of music online.
Keep thinking “steer away from genre music, make it new and weird if necessary”.
Experiment much with many instruments, such as improvd arpeggiated piano and similar.
Here are some experiments privately made to “get it” – unique combination found hopefully:
