  • Sariyah Idan chats new live album, busking, Leonard Cohen and more [Interview]

There are artists who write songs about places, and then there are artists who let places write through them. On Live In Berlin, Vol. 1, Sariyah Idan stands firmly in…

  • GWAR Cover “Pink Pony Club”

A.V. Undercover, the A.V. Club’s series in which bands were invited to be filmed performing a cover chosen from an ever-dwindling list of pre-selected songs, is one of the great blog-era video franchises. It went away in the 2010s, but new ownership brought it back with a vengeance in 2024, starting with GWAR covering “I’m Just Ken,” Ryan Gosling’s power ballad from the Barbie soundtrack.

Cali indiepop greats Rocketship are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 1996 debut album A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness by giving it its first vinyl pressing since the original release. This is much needed as original copies fetch for over $200 in the secondary market. It’s out March 20 via Slumberland and you can preorder it here.

The album, which mixed sugary melodies and jangly guitars with shoegaze atmosphere and krautrock drone, sounds pretty fresh in 2026 and you can listen below.

In further celebration, Rocketship will embark on the A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness 30th Anniversary Tour in April, hitting San Francisco, the band’s hometown of Sacramento, Los Angeles, Seattle and Portland. Opening along the way are a bunch of other Slumberland bands, including The Umbrellas, Tony Molina, Kids on a Crime Spree, Chime School, and more. Dates are listed below.

Rocketship last played NYC in 2014. Let’s have some East Coast dates too!

  • BTS Announce New Album ARIRANG And World Tour

BTS are back. Almost four years ago, the K-pop heavyweights went on hiatus in order to fulfill their mandatory South Korean military service. Last summer, they announced that they were back to work and getting ready to release a new album in the first half of 2026. Today, the news is official: ARIRANG, billed as BTS’ fifth studio album (though it’s more like their tenth), is coming on March 20. It’s their first album since 2020. We don’t know much else about it just yet except it has 14 songs and that’s the cover art above.

CLAPTONE, HANNAH BOLEYN – BLACK & GOLD

This pair is hard to beat and the result is one of the best (so far) new releases in dance music this week.Claptone needs no introduction a regular visitor on my blog.On the other hand Hannah Boleyn keeps rising with one great tune after another. With multiple collaborations with names like John Summit, Billie Gillies, D.O.D and one of the best cover version last year on “Teardrops” i was expecting “Black & Gold” being just as good as it is.This is propably going to be overlooked by the charts but do a favour in your playlist and add it.Both radio friendly and mainstream is a combination you can’t ignore..

  • Harry Styles Announces New Album Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally

Big-deal pop stars love announcing their returns and unveiling their new albums at the beginning of the year, and now we’ve got another one. Vaguely feline clothes-horse heartthrob Harry Styles is coming back on March 6 with a new LP called Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, a frankly very irritating title. (That’s six words, one period, and one comma. I am not looking forward to typing it a bunch of times.)
